Catholic leader weighs in on electing a pope

Catholic leaders around the world are weighing in on what they hope to see from the new pope, including Bishop of Pueblo, Rev. Fernando Isern.

Isern says there are three qualities he’d like to see. He says the new pope should be charismatic, have good governing qualities and be worldly.

“For him to have a sense of the world, the church of the world, but certainly the Third World. Have a good sense of the church in Asia and Africa and South America where really the majority of Catholics today are found,” Isern said.

Cardinals will announce that a new pope has been elected by releasing white smoke out of the chimney in the Sistine Chapel.
