Man accused of stealing from Springs fire truck

A man has been arrested after accusations he stole from a Colorado Springs fire truck.

Police said Robert Monteil, 32, was caught stealing from CSFD Engine 8 at about 3 p.m. Friday when firefighters were responding to a medical call at Crossland Economy Studios at 3490 Afternoon Circle.

Firefighters said they saw Monteil enter the cab of their fire engine and take items out of it.

Police say officers got there quickly after firefighters called them. They say Monteil started running, but officers caught up with him and tased him before taking him into custody.
