Incentives OK’d for 3 films planning work in Colo.

Colorado economic development officials have approved incentives for three feature films doing production work in the state, including one produced by Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Denver Post reports DiCaprio’s “Dear Eleanor” won approval Thursday for a $300,000 loan guarantee and up to $500,000 in rebates if the production spends $2.5 million in Colorado.

For “Caribou Records,” the Colorado Economic Development Commission approved a $350,000 loan guarantee and rebates of $1.47 million, assuming in-state spending of about $7.5 million.

It approved a $76,000 rebate based on $380,000 in Colorado spending for a thriller called “The Frame.”

The commission also approved rebates of nearly $387,000 for the owner of The Discovery Channel for spending of $1.9 million and rebates of $60,000 for fitness-video maker Gaiam Inc. of Boulder County.
