Police find stolen gun, arrest man

Police arrested a man after finding a stolen gun in his possession Friday night.

Police investigated reports of shots fired in the 800 block of Chapman Dr. around 6:00 p.m. Witnesses reported seeing a white car speeding off after they heard gunshots. One witness was able to get the license plate and reported it to police.

Shortly after, police spotted the car near Airport Rd. and Chelton Rd. and followed the car. Police stopped the car at Circle Dr. and Verde Dr.

Police found a stolen handgun while searching the car.

Police arrested the driver, Aaron Belyeu, 44, for Prohibited Use of a Weapon, Theft by Receiving, and Possession of a Weapon by a Previous Offender.

The passenger of the car, Daja Hill, 23, was taken into custody for unrelated warrants.

Police are still investigating.
