3 officers hurt in a New Jersey police station shooting

Three officers have been injured in a shooting at a police station in southern New Jersey.

The shooting occurred at the Gloucester Township police station in Camden County.

According to police, gunfire erupted inside the police station around 5:30 Friday morning. The shooter, who was being held at the station, when he started to shoot.

One officer was shot in the stomach under his bullet proof vest, and had to have surgery. Two other officers were hit and taken to the hospital but only had minor injuries.

The shooter was shot and killed inside the municipal building.
