Shooting death in Greenwood Village

Greenwood Village police are investigating the shooting death of a woman Thursday morning.

Investigators told our sister station in Denver that a woman in her 20s was shot and killed in the parking garage between two buildings at the Promenade Place apartments on South Ulster Street.

There were signs of a struggle, according to Commander Joe Harvey.

Harvey told KMGH that police received a short 911 call at 7:21 a.m., but the caller did not provide authorities with any information.

Investigators quickly used their resources to ping the cell phone and determine where the call came from. Harvey said it is possible that initial call came from the victim.

The victim was found near her car.

Police have not made an arrest, but said neighbors in the area should not be concerned for their own safety.
