Capitol Christmas Tree visits Colorado Springs

The Capitol Christmas Tree is visiting Colorado Springs Sunday morning.

It will be displayed at the Air Force Academy football stadium parking lot from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The truck transporting the tree will be surrounded by a banner that people can sign with holiday wishes to the nation.

The tree is touring the country, making stops in 28 cities before settling at the U.S. Capitol.

The 73-foot-tall Colorado Engleman spruce tree was chosen and cut down from Ripple Creek Lodge east of Meeker.
