El Paso County leaders ask for public input on parks

El Paso County leaders are asking for the public’s input on parks. They have created an online forum for community members to get involved.

The website is funded by a grant from Great Outdoors.

It allows community members to talk to each other, let county leaders know what improvements they think are most important and ask questions.

Elaine Kleckner is with the county’s community services department. She said the website has gotten an impressive amount of feedback.

She said it allows people who traditionally would not participate in public meetings have a voice.

One of the county’s most popular parks is the Bear Creek Dog Park, according to Steve Ducoff.

He said he takes his dog Monty to the park almost daily.

Ducoff said he thinks the website is a great idea. He views many of our county parks as community treasures.
