Woman sentenced to jail in missing teen case

A woman who admitted to lying in an investigation into a missing teen whose friends last saw her at a Denver nightclub has been sentenced to jail.

Kerry Humphrey was sentenced this week to 60 days in jail and four years of supervised probation. She also was ordered to perform 2,000 hours of community service and seek mental-health counseling.

Prosecutors say she lied to police investigating her then-boyfriend Travis Forbes in the death of Kenia Monge. Forbes is serving a life sentence with no chance of parole for killing Monge and attacking Fort Collins resident Lydia Tillman in a separate assault.

Humphrey pleaded guilty earlier this year to attempting to influence a public servant, false reporting to authorities and perjury.
