Car crashed into utilites box starting a fire

A car crashed into a utilities box at Powers and Hancock and started a fire.

A witness said the car was going about 100 mph when he lost control and hit a utilities box, starting a fire. After hitting the box he tried to drive away but his car did not make it very far and broke down at Chelton Road.

The driver was arrested and alcohol is expected to play a role.

Utilites were called out and there were power outages in the area. The utilities box reached temperatures around 300 degrees so they had to wait to put out the fire until it was safe.
