Mustard gas vapor at chemical depot

A chemical monitoring crew at the U.S. Army Pueblo Chemical Depot has detected mustard agent vapor inside a storage igloo containing 105-mm projectiles.

The depot said the vapor was detected Monday during routine operations and that passive carbon filters prevent contaminated air from escaping. Crews were installing new air filters to lower the levels of contaminated air inside the igloo before entering the igloo to look for leaking munitions.
