Burglary suspects break into Waldo Canyon Fire evacuated home

Twoburglary suspects are under arrest, accused of breaking into a home in the Waldo Canyon Fire evacuation zone.

Colorado Bureau of Investigation agents arrested Belinda Yates, 38, and Shane Garrett, 36. They are accused of burglarizing a home in one of the subdivisions evacuated because of the Waldo Canyon Fire.

Agents say Yates and Garrett were booked on suspicion of second degree burglary, possession of a controlled substance, theft, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and theft by receiving.

Investigators say the two also were in possession of methamphetamine when they were arrested in Monument.

Agents are looking into whether other homes may have been targeted by the suspects.
