2 New Fires Burning In Southern Colorado

Two small wildfires started in Southern Colorado Sunday evening.

The largest fire, the Webber fire, is burning in Park County north of Wilkerson Pass. It’s 20% contained as of Monday afternoon. The fire is threatening one home.

Officials tell us 60 firefighters are on scene and inmates from a prison in Buena Vista have also been called in to help.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

The second fire, the Swank fire, was burning in Southwestern Douglas County, not far from Palmer Lake. The Swank fire is described as a smoldering fire. Crews from The Pike National Forest and Palmer Lake were working to put it out.
