Names Of Victims Released In Deadly Pueblo Crash
The Colorado State Patrol released the names and ages of the two people killed and the three injured in a weekend crash in Pueblo.
Two teens, 18-year-old Kameron Montoya, who was driving the vehicle, and 16-year-old Chantel Ortiz died after an early Monday crash in Pueblo, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Three others were sent to the hospital. The state patrol has identified them as Racquel Ayala,19, Marrissa Valdez, 14, and Adrianna Oconas, 15.
Colorado State Patrol tells us they got a call from Pueblo police about a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander driving at a high rate of speed on Pueblo Boulevard.
A trooper caught up with the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop using lights and sirens.
The vehicle didn’t stop and crashed a short time later.
State patrol said the vehicle was stolen from Colorado Springs.
Troopers said a handgun was also found inside the vehicle. Troopers believe alcohol may have been a factor in the accident.
This incident has been turned over to the Pueblo County Critical Incident Team for further review.
