Juveniles Arrested For Burning Martinez Elementary Playground

Two juveniles have been arrested in connection to the fire at Martinez Elementary School’s playground.

On April 25th, Colorado Springs Fire Department firefighters quickly put out a fire on the playground. Fire investigators were called to the scene because of the suspicious nature of the fire.

CSFD says that a tip was reported through the Safe 2 Tell program which led to the arrest of two juveniles. They will each be charged with 2nd degree arson.

The damage to the playground equipment is estimated at $6,200.
