Experts: Gas Prices Should Decline
According to experts, the price of oil has dropped to its lowest level in three months. AAA Colorado spokeswoman, Wave Dreher said this is typically reflected by declining gasoline prices.
The national average for a gallon of gas fell 2.5 cents over the weekend, putting it at $3.77 per gallon.
On average, gas prices in Colorado are higher than the national average. According to AAA, the average price in Colorado in $3.82.
?There doesn?t appear to be any reason for this. Supply is still very strong, and demand has not gone up that much. I think we?re just getting a little bit of payback for the lower prices we experienced when the rest of the country was so high,? said Dreher.
Dreher said AAA originally speculated the peak gas prices would be seen between mid-April and and mid-May, adding that she believes ?the worst is over.?
?I do believe the declines are going to continue as we start the Memorial Day holiday and also the summer driving season,? said Dreher.
