Personal Robbery: Clown Mask Used

Colorado Springs police are looking for an armed robber Wednesday morning.

We’re told a person wearing a clown mask robbed someone as he or she walked to their car on East Kiowa near Prospect Street.

It happened shortly before 5 Wednesday morning, police said.

The victim told police that as he was walking to his car, a compact silver SUV-type vehicle pulled up and a passenger got out. He was holding a handgun and wearing the clown mask. The robber demanded money from the victim. The victim was not injured in the robbery.

Shortly after 5 Wednesday morning a second robbery was reported in Mt. Werner Circle.

The victim tells police a similar vehicle was used but this time there wasn’t a mask.

The robber is described as a black male in his 20’s wearing a gray hoodie.

Police aren’t sure if the two robberies are connected.
