Fort Carson Remembers Two Fallen Soldiers

A memorial service for Sgt. Daniel J. Brown, a 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division Soldier who was killed, March 24, while serving in Afghanistan, is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Provider’s Chapel on post.

The service was also for PFC Ricky Shaw who enlisted in the Army shortly after graduating Wando High School in 2009. Shaw was a part of the Bravo Company, 2nd Special Troops Battalion at Fort Carson.

The memorial service is rich in military tradition and honors Soldiers with the traditional roll call, a rifle squad salute and the final tribute to a fallen Soldier with the playing of Taps.
