Shooting Death Of Springs Man Ruled Justified
The District Attorney’s Office ruled Friday that the shooting death of Joshua Bueno was justified due to self defense.
22-year-old Bueno was shot and killed near N. Academy Blvd. and Galley Rd. on Feb. 16th. The DA’s Office says there were possible issues of self-defense and the facts were presented to a Grand Jury for review. As a result of the investigation, no charges will be filed.
Bueno, whose family said was engaged and the father of two boys, was killed after witnesses said he and another man got in a car chase and more than a dozen shots were fired.
Investigators identified the other man as 23-year-old Erik Camacho, of Colorado Springs. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder.
Camacho’s mom works at the police department, but police say she had no access to the case and was helpful.
Those who knew Bueno told KRDO Newschannel 13 that he and Camacho both attended Mesa Ridge High School and that they had been friends.
