Suspect Search Continues, Lockdown Lifted
Jackson Elementary School lifted its lockdown Wednesday afternoon after a search for a suspect in the area of Chestnut Street, North of Fillmore Street in Colorado Springs.
Bounty hunters from Black Shadow Task Force tell us that they are looking for 58 year old Arnold Johnson. They say he violated the terms of his bond. Bounty hunters say that Johnson is charged with sexual assault by a person in a position of trust. They tell us that Johnson is a white man who is 52 years old and stands six feet, five inches tall.
About 10:30, Wednesday morning, bounty hunters say that they tried to grab Johnson in a motel room at the Super 8 on North Chestnut Street. They say he jumped out of his second story window and ran off. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a t-shirt and work boots. They warn that he is armed and dangerous and has reasons for remaining in the area.
Johnson has a criminal background that stretches back 12 years. He currently has three open warrants for possession of drugs in each of the last three years. Johnson has also been arrested on assault, theft and motor vehicle theft charges. All his convictions and alleged crimes occurred in El Paso County.
