A Disturbance in The Springs Leads to An Arrest

Colorado Springs police arrested one person after a late night disturbance Wednesday.

Police responded to a call in the 3000 block of Woodland Hills Drive shortly before 11:30 p.m.

The call was about a suicidal man with a gun, police said.

Witnesses tell police that Jerarl Boyd, 24, was drinking heavily earlier in the evening. Boyd was waving a gun, pointing it at his head and threatening to shoot himself.

When police arrived, Boyd and another person were located inside a car in the parking lot, police said,

Boyd no longer had a gun in his possession but officers found a .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol under a pile of rocks on the side of the apartment complex.

Boyd was arrested and faces a charge of prohibited use of a weapon.
