Officer Recovering After Pitbull Attack

A Colorado Springs police officer is recovering after being attacked by pitbulls.

It happened Friday night at a home on Verde Drive.

Police tell us two officers responded to a call about a disturbance shortly after 10 p.m.

A man, now identified as Troy Disnuke, eventually answered the door for police but began struggling with the officers.

Disnuke’s teenage son jumped on one of the officers back in an attempt to help his father. At the same time, officers were dealing with two aggressive pitbulls.

Both Disnuke and his son were taken into custody and face charges of obstructing a peace officer.

The officer suffered welts and bruises on his arms and hands from the pitbulls.
