Judge: Former Ellicott School Board Member Can Move

A judge ruled Wednesday that former Ellicott School Board member, Stefanie Dickinson, can move to Texas.

Dickinson’s attorney claimed that because of her notoriety in the community, she is unable to find a job. According to her attorney, Dickinson’s mother and other relatives live in Texas. The judge granted her permission to move, assuming she returns for all her court appearances.

Stefanie Dickinson is accused of sending inappropriate text messages to her son’s friend, a 14-year-old male student, in September. She is also charged with sexual assault for having a relationship with a 17-year-old male in 2008.

The prosecutor in the case opposed the judge’s decision, claiming Dickinson had recently been seen at Ellicott High School even though her children no longer attend. It is unclear if this violates her bond.

Dickinson has a disposition hearing on Feb. 29th.
