Dougherty Trio Reveals Intimate Details In GQ Article

Their eight-day evasion of authorities has been making headlines since the Dougherty trio was captured in August near Walsenburg, Colo.

Ryan, Lee-Grace and Dylan Dougherty are awaiting trial, but are speaking out about what happened between Florida and Colorado.

According to Dobie, the siblings said they ?all wore sunglasses and hats whenever they left the car. They believed that most people were too busy with their lives to be keeping an eye out for the three fugitives.?

As the saga unfolded, this proved itself to be a faulty belief.

?Occasionally they heard a small truck passing by, and after a while it sounded like the same truck over and over again, and it seemed to slow down each time it passed, but they were too exhausted to check it out,? Dobie wrote.

According to the article, the next morning, Aug. 10, Ryan said ?Guys, I have a bad feeling today?s the day we?re going to get caught.? This was the day the three were caught and taken into custody.

Facing around 134 years, the eldest sibling, Dylan said during the interview, ?If I had planned it out better, we probably would?ve gotten away with this, because ? I can say it right now ? we definitely have the mustard to do it.?

Currently, Lee-Grace is set to begin her trial in February. Meanwhile, Dylan tells GQ he is trying to work out a deal with his lawyers to be housed in the same prison as his brother, Ryan.

?My job didn?t end at the car wreck on 25. I feel the responsibility continuously. At the end of the day, he?s my little brother, and I?ll always have his back. And that?s just the way it is. I don?t know why I?m like that, but I am,? Dylan told Dobie.
