Armed Robbery At Safeway On Circle Dr.

There was an armed robbery at the Safeway store at 1121 N. Circle Dr.

It happened around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.

According to Colorado Springs Police, the suspect pulled out a white, plastic Safeway bag and a semi-automatic handgun and told the clerk at the customer service desk he was robbing the store. The suspect told the clerk that if she did not give him the cash, he would shoot her. He was given an undisclosed amount of cash then ran out of the store, heading south.

The suspect is described as a black male around 30-years-old wearing a black jacket, grey hoodie, jeans, and black cap. He’s around 6′ feet tall with a clean shaven face. Police say he’s between 210-220 lbs and muscular.

A witness said he saw the suspect running down an alley behind apartment buildings off Galley Road. Police searched the area but were unable to find him.
