Man Shoots At 7-11, Injures Clerk

Police said a 7-11 clerk was hurt early Sunday after a drive-by shooting just before 4 a.m.

The clerk at the store on 3805 E. Pikes Peak Avenue told officers that he was outside the store sweeping up the parking lot when he saw a dark color maroon sedan with black wheels, and possibly no hubcaps, traveling eastbound on East Pikes Peak.

The clerk said someone fired shots at him from the vehicle. He said he ran back into the store as glass from the store window shattered from the impact of the bullets. Police said four shell casing were recovered on scene.

The clerk suffered a laceration to the top of his head from the flying glass. He was treated at the scene.

The suspect vehicle proceeded eastbound on E. Pikes Peak Ave. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate the vehicle. There is no suspect information at this time.
