Crime Fighting Neighborhood

Car thieves are caught in the 3100 block of Deliverance Drive in Colorado Springs late Sunday night when a thief tripped a motion sensor.

An anonymous neighbor said, “I heard my driveway alarm go off, saw a car out here and some guys in it. Just didn’t look right, came out and, sure enough, they were stealing stuff from my neighbor up the road.”

He was able to give a description of the three suspects for police.

“The fact that someone was able to be alerted to the fact of someone breaking into their vehicle and they were able to alert us. That’s pretty tremendous,” said Sgt. Steve Noblitt with the Colorado Springs police department.

Police have arrested 31-year-old Timothy Capaul, but are still looking for 35-year-old Charles Salic. They are facing charges of Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft, Burglary of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Conspiracy to commit these crimes. The third suspect was a woman who police have released, but said she may still face criminal charges.
