Armed Robber Arrested

A man is behind bars after police say he robbed a man who was walking from his car to the Western Terrace Apartments near Fountain Boulevard and Academy Boulevard.

Officers say Clarence Thompson Jr, 18, had a handgun and took the victim’s cell phone and money as he was heading up the stairs just before 10 p.m. Saturday. The victim described Thompson to police, and an officer found him at a nearby convenience store. The victim positively identified Thompson. Police found the handgun used in the robbery and the victim’s cash.

Thompson, Jr. was arrested on suspicion of aggravated robbery.
