Missing Cash Investigation Wrapping Up

A two-month Pueblo County investigation could soon come to a close. Investigators have been looking into the disappearance of cash and prescription drugs from the sheriff?s office evidence department.

The Pueblo County Sheriff?s Office told KRDO NewsChannel 13 they investigation was wrapping up and would be releasing the information soon.

Tara Adame is a person of interest, according to Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor.

She resigned from the Pueblo County Sheriff?s Office back in September, a day after being put administrative leave. Money and prescription drugs went missing from the Pueblo County Sheriff?s Office evidence department. The department Adame was in charge of.

No word on the exact amount of cash that went missing. Records indicate six criminal cases were affected.

The Sheriff?s Office declined an interview, stating, they wanted to wait until the investigation was complete.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation is also looking into the matter, but told us the Sheriff?s Office would be the ones releasing the information.
