Fort Carson Soldiers Killed In Action

The Department of Defense announced the deaths of two Fort Carson soldiers supporting Operation Enduring Freedom on Monday.

29-year-old Capt. Joshua S. Lawrence of Nashville, Tenn. and 25-year-old Capt. Drew E. Russell of Scotts, Mich. were killed on Oct. 8th in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan, from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their unit with a rocket propelled grenade.

They were assigned to the 1st Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colo.
