UPDATE: Arrested Halloween Mask Bandits Named

El Paso County Sheriff’s office has released the names of the suspects arrested in the Big R and credit union robberies.

20-year-old Stephen Williams was arrested for two counts of Aggravated Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Robbery, and Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft.

18-year-old Marqual Sawyer is facing charges of Second Degree Burglary, False Information to a Pawn Broker, Criminal Mischief and Theft. Both are being held at the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center. Williams’ bond is set at $500,000 while Sawyer’s is set at $10,000.

A third individual, a 16-year-old male has not been identified because he is a juvenile. He faces charges of Aggravated Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Robbery, and Aggravated Motor Vehicle Theft. He is being held at the Spring Creek Detention Facility on a $10,000 bond.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office arrested four suspects Thursday night. A fourth suspect, a female, was not charged and her information will not be released.

El Paso County Deputies and Colorado Springs Police got a lead Thursday afternoon after locating the car the suspects used in the robbery of the District 3 Credit Union robbery.

The car was located near Colorado Ave and Walnut Street in Colorado Springs, but the suspected ditched the car and stole another vehicle.

A witness reported seeing the suspects getting into a Hyundai Santa Fe.

That second car was stopped near Tia Juana and Gunnison Streets, according to Colorado Springs Police.

Late Thursday night deputies announced that two of the four people detained are the suspects in the robbery at the Widefield School District 3 Credit Union from Wednesday, and possibly the armed robbery of the Big R store in Widefield Tuesday night.
