Honda Recalls Almost 1 Million Cars
Honda has announced its recalling close to a million cars worldwide because of problems with power windows and computer systems.
The recall affects 936,000 of the Fit subcompact, CR-V crossover and Fit Aria in North America, Asia, Europe and Africa, the company said Monday. The Fit is called Jazz in some overseas markets, while the Fit Aria is also known as City.
Honda says those cars may have defective power window switches that could melt and catch fire. A Honda spokesperson says there have been reports of nine cars catching fire in China and Japan.
Honda is also recalling 26,000 CR-Z compact hybrids due to programming problems with the engine control unit
Honda says there haven’t been any serious injuries caused by the defects. The company says it’s going to be contacting affected customers later this month.
