Tak Landrock
I am proud to be part of the TARGET 13 investigative unit. For many years I worked as the station’s consumer reporter, but took on a new role in December of 2009.
I’ve won numerous awards incuding three regional Edward R. Murrows for his investigative work, awards from the Associated Press, Colorado Broadcasters Association and I’ve been nominated two Emmy awards.
I’ve been with NEWSCHANNEL 13 since 1997 and have broken several national stories featured on CNN and ABC NEWS; from Ted Haggard to the arrest of a Colorado woman who was accused of making fake calls that lead to a raid on a polygamist camp in Texas.
I’ve covered major stories for NEWSCHANNEL 13 starting with the Columbine Shooting, the Hayman Fire and the Ellicott Tornado.
I consider Colorado Springs my hometown. While I am not a native, I have seen a lot of changes since I moved here in 1988. I can remember when Powers Boulevard was only a two-lane road and there was no such thing as rush hour traffic on Interstate 25.
I went to Falcon High School and graduated with a class of only 98. I moved on to Regis University where I obtained a Bachelor’s in Communication.
When I am not at work you can catch me running downtown or in Red Rock Canyon; I also like to hang out at local coffee houses reading a book and walking my dog, Shiro.
You can e-mail me with any news stories t.landrock@krdo.com
