Power Restored / Road Reopened East Of Manzanola

The Colorado Department of Transportation says Highway 50 is now reopened in both directions east of Manzanola.

The closure was the result of a strong storm that went through the area Thursday evening, causing damage to road side transmission lines.

Gail force winds knocked down 14 power poles along the highway, cutting power to 520 customers in Manzanola and Ordway.

Power was rerouted and restored to customers after approximately 40 minutes.

The road remain closed for a short time as crews from Black hills worked to clear the scene.
