Colorado Springs Youth Summer Jobs Get Funds
COLORADO SPRINGS – Young people looking for some summer employment got a boost on Monday.
The Pikes Peak Workforce Center has announced funding from the 2010 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)for a Summer Youth Employment Program.
According to the PPWC:
The program provides paid internship opportunities for low-income, out-of-school young adults between the ages of 16 through 24.
These internships will take place at businesses and organizations throughout El Paso and Teller Counties.
Participants in the ARRA Summer Youth Employment Program need to be available between April 21 and June 30, 2010, for on-the-job work experience and ongoing career readiness and life skills training.
Eligibility requirements must be met. Limited internships are available. Applications will be accept on a first-come, first-served basis through April 21, 2010
