Colorado State Trooper Due In Court On DUI Charge

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) – A Colorado state trooper who was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving while on duty is scheduled to appear in court.

Forty-eight-year-old David Dolan was arrested while in uniform and driving a marked Colorado State Patrol car on March 22. Authorities say several people called 911 to report the car was being driven erratically south of Denver.

He is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Court for a hearing on Monday.

Dolan, who is free on $1,000 bail, is on unpaid leave. The patrol has launched an internal investigation.

Dolan faces charges of driving under the influence and prohibited use of weapons. Colorado law makes it illegal for anyone to have a firearm while intoxicated.
