Suspect Points Shotgun At Officer After Taser Fails To Deploy

COLORADO SPRINGS – A man was arrested after he pointed a shotgun at a CSPD officer whose Taser failed to deploy early Thursday morning.

Officers from the Sand Creek Division were dispatched to the area of Airport Rd. and S. Murray Blvd. to investigate a report of an assault in progress with a gun involved around 1:48 a.m.

When police arrived 4 out of the 6 people at the scene ran away. 19-year-old Jonathon Pino, who stayed on the scene, resisted police control. An officer attempted to deploy his Taser however the probes did not deploy. Pino raised a shotgun in the direction of the Officer who was able to close the distance, taking the suspect to the ground and disarm him.
