Pueblo Grocery Workers To Vote Today

Unionzed workers at Safeway and King Soopers grocery stores in Pueblo will begin voting on a union contract today.Yesterday, Colorado Springs members of United Food and Commercial Workers union Local 7 voted against the proposed five-year contract.

Denver-area Safeway and King Soopers workers rejected the contract earlier this week. The union has been negotiating new contracts for about 17,000 workers at Kroger Co.’s King Soopers and City Market chains, Safeway and Albertsons. King Soopers, City Market and Safeway workers are voting on contracts through Oct. 6. Albertsons workers haven’t scheduled votes yet.
