New Information In Search For Becky Elshani

By Josh Simeone J.Simeone@krdo.com

TELLER COUNTY – New information in the search for Becky Elshani comes from a NEWSCHANNEL 13 viewer.

Saturday’s search took an unexpected turn for the Elshani family when a viewer tipped them off to a location near Lake George that had not yet been searched.

A viewer believes she saw the red S-U-V owned by Elshani’s boyfriend, 24-year-old Daniel Dereere, driving near the Dreamtime Mine.

The mine is located just off of Highway 24, on a remote road the viewer says only locals know about.

“It’s possible, but you always have that feeling everywhere you go,” Elshani family friend Wes Bartle says.

Bartle and members of the Elshani family searched the new area but weren’t able to come up with much because of snow. “I think this would be a really good area once the snow melts off.”

Meanwhile, search efforts from nearly 80 volunteers NEWSCHANNEL 13 helped to organize started their day around 10:30 AM in Woodland Park. Volunteers arrived with everything from maps to four-wheelers and even used their own four-wheel drive trucks to help search.

At least one searcher found something she believes could be a clue – the searcher contacted Colorado Springs Police with the information.

The Elshani search continues Sunday at Bear Creek Park in Colorado Springs. Organizers ask that volunteers arrive between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM.
