Airlines Charging You More In Fees

COLORADO SPRINGS – If you are going to Las Vegas this Thanksgiving holiday you better have packed light if you are flying Allegiant Air. On Monday the no thrills carrier began charging travelers $10 to check each bag, each way.

It’s the new wave of making money on flights with hidden costs. For example, if you make a reservation at the airport with US Airways, you will be charged an extra $45. It’s $10 dollars cheaper if you do it over the phone. Even if you book on-line you will be charged. An American Airlines Representative told NEWSCHANNEL 13 that his company levies a $5 fee if you go on-line.

Passengers we spoke with thought it was ridiculous to charge hidden fees. “It seems when you pay for a ticket, it should be all inclusive, those little fees should be inclusive.

It doesn’t end there. If you get cold on an Air Canada flight, it will cost you $5 to get a blanket.
