Money Matters: Stimulus checks should arrive soon for those who receive government benefits

According to the IRS, people who receive Social Security or VA benefits will receive their stimulus check at the beginning of May.

Most payments will go through direct deposit. If you receive your government benefit in the form of a check, it can take up to 14 days to receive the check once it's issued.

Recipients do not need to take action unless they have children who are under the age of 17 and qualify for a stimulus payment.

You must enter your child's information through the non-filers tool on the IRS website by May 5.

The IRS is continuing to remind people to be on the lookout for stimulus check scams. People should watch out for scams using email, phone calls, or texts.
