COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) -- With the seasons changing, it's an important time to make sure you've gotten all you can from your garden.

This is a good time to start cleaning up all the elements in your garden, and focus your efforts on your yard and trees. It isn't here yet, but the final mow is coming soon for gardens in southern Colorado.

The Chicago Botanic Gardens say late summer is the perfect time to start a compost pile with everything that is leftover, or maybe past its prime.
