The Rematch: Rampart vs. Fountain Fort Carson

It was one of the best high school football games of the year. Rampart with an impressive 17 to 14 win over Fountain Fort Carson. Thanks to the coronavirus, games are the state were canceled, so Rampart and Fountain Fort Carson will play each other again, and it's a big one, "In all honesty, this is probably the biggest game I've played in all of my four years here. I think all the guys know it. We're planning to go up against a big team that we're familiar with. (They're) well coached. It's gonna be a battle," says Rampart quarterback, Cale Cormaney, Rampart wide receiver, Randahl Butler added, "We've got to be excited. It's a big opportunity. We haven't really done it in a few years. This time it's a league championship along with being for the playoffs. It's all or nothing."

There are no guarantees what the rankings will look like if the Trojans lose, so even thought they are ranked number one, they can't take this game for granted, "All season long it was that way, because you know how COVID shapes out. You never know. Unfortunately some teams didn't get to play this week. So you never know. We have to take this game as if it were our last," says Fountain Fort Carson running back, Q Jones. "We know that this is a big game in our season and we don't want our season to end right now. We want to keep pushing," says Fountain Fort Carson safety, Tashon Smith.

Talking to the players on both sides, a game of this magnitude is what they live for, " The last time I played in the playoffs was my freshman year. That atmosphere, I haven't been around it yet. I'm excited because this is like the first true playoff game for me," says Jones. "We didn't know if we were going to be able to play at all. So we've got to take it all in. I'm running out of games for my high school career. I'm just going in excited. I get to play with my boys, and I get to go out and compete," says Cormaney.
