District 1 - Republican Party

How does your experience make you qualified to represent the people?

As a Colorado native, military wife, educator, small business owner, nonprofit leader, and former State House legislative aide, I understand how policy, budgets, families, and local communities intersect. I bring hands-on leadership and real administrative experience to the race for County Commissioner.  I own and operate a homeschool co-op, where I serve as principal, HR director, lead administrator, and daily problem-solver. That means managing people, balancing budgets, building systems, and serving families directly. El Paso County needs commissioners who can do more than talk. I have the experience to hit the ground  running and serve with accountability, wisdom, and common sense.

What are your top policy priorities?

As County Commissioner, I understand the role requires wearing many hats. The county oversees 14 major departments, but the most important responsibilities come down to five core duties: funding the Sheriff and emergency services, maintaining roads, bridges, and infrastructure, supporting secure elections with the Clerk and Recorder, overseeing Human Services, and making responsible land use, zoning, and board appointment decisions, including appointments to bodies like the Board of Health.
My vision is to restore responsive, responsible leadership. Every elected official must answer to the people, listen to their concerns, and steward county resources wisely. Too many residents feel unheard. I intend to change that.

What is one issue you think is being overlooked in this race, and how would you address it?

The biggest eclipsing issue facing Commissioner District 1 is lack of transparency and accountability to the people. True responsive servant leadership walks alongside the people, listens to their concerns, and serves them in the truest sense of the word. A servant leader is willing to be above board, sincere, serving the people without making back door deals that have strings attached. District 1 deserves a leader who is willing, transparent and accountable to the citizens that elect them.
