Skydiving plane makes emergency landing at airport

joining us, i’m greg miller a scary moment for a plane full of skydivers… as their aircraft experienced an emergency situation near the colorado springs east airport this afternoon.. krdo newschannel 13s colleen sikora joins us live now from the airport where that plane was able to land .. colleen- good news out of this tense situation. greg great news is the 15 passengers on the plane are all safe, and not injured. the pilot was able to land the plane on one engine safely on the runway. ellicot fire department came out to deal with the burning engine, but when they arrived the fire was out. officials with out of the blue sky diving say something, possibly a bird, caused it to catch fire and fail. the plane was just under three thousand feet in elevation, roughly nine thousand feet below the normal diving range, but all divers were able to make a safe dive out of the plane. it’s one of those things like it’s unfortunate event, everyone’s safe, we’re very happy everyone is accounted for and now we gotta figure out how to mitigate the damages and get back open sot. john mahan/ out of the blue skydiving overall- several people saying out here that it couldn’t have gone better considering the situation, and again good news that no one was injured. live in calhan, cs krdo nc
