Disturbance investigation in COS ends in two arrests

What started out as an investigation into a possible disturbance ended in the arrest of a man and a woman who were both wanted for outstanding warrants.

Mark Wooten, 42, and Brandy Sigafoos, 40 were arrested on Friday morning after police got a call about a disturbance in the 2300 block of Weber Street. The caller told police that a female was claiming someone was trying to kill her and that someone may have been shot.

Officers responded just after 10 a.m. They stopped a car in the parking lot of a nearby apartment complex. The driver, Wooten, matched the description given by the caller and was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Sigafoos exited out of her apartment in that complex not long after Wooten’s arrest and was also taken into custody for an outstanding warrant.

Police were unable to find anyone injured in the area.

A search warrant was executed for Sigafoos’ apartment and led to the discovery of a defaced 25cal handgun and miscellaneous amounts of narcotics.

The investigation is ongoing.
