Fountain Valley water worries: Care & Share giveaways over, but help still available

Care and Share handed out bottled water in Security for the final time Friday, but help is still available for people who are worried that their drinking water isn’t safe.

The charity handed out nearly 21,000 gallons of water this month after water in Security, Widefield and Fountain tested positive for chemicals called PFCs.

A contract has been awarded by the Air Force to set up clean water distribution through El Paso County Public Health.

The deliveries are being handled by a local water company, but you need to sign up with the health department.

Deliveries are *only* for residents who have private wells or small water systems.

If you need to sign up, you should call El Paso County Public Health at 719-575-8602.
