How to avoid grilling accidents this 4th of July

Grilling is a major pastime in America around the 4th of July, and if done safely can end in the perfect meal for you and your loved ones.

The National Fire and Protection Agency created a video fully explaining some of the precautions the master chef should take when grilling burgers and hot dogs.

Some the tips they said to follow include:

1. Keep your grill away from the home and deck railing

2. Open the lid before turning on your grill

3. If the grill doesn’t ignite, let the gas dissipate for at least five minutes before attempting to ignite again

4. Turn the gas tank off first before turning off the grill burners

By following these tips, you are putting yourself as well as your guests in a safer environment. For more on how to avoid a grilling disaster, visit the NFPA website.
