After almost 47 years, COS art gallery to close its doors

A storefront that has been around the Springs for years is now having to close its doors.

Kemper Galleries located at 5420 North Academy is closing up shop after what the owners say is a sign of the times.

“Times are changing…It’s starting to get to where only baby boomers are customers,” said Jeanne Kemper.

Jeanne and her sister Janet started this free-standing art gallery in 1969. The business offered painting restorations, decorating and staging and picture framing.

Now, after nearly 47 years, the Kembers are shutting the business down. According to Jeanne, they plan to be closed for good by the end of August.
