Woman in Colorado Springs has life-long wish granted
A life-long dream has come true for one woman in Colorado Springs.
Melana Fisk, 32, uses a wheelchair, but she has one dream: to fly.
Fisk has cerebral palsy. Her mother also died last year. Now, her family wants to cheer her up.
“She’s had a lifelong dream of going up in a hot air balloon,” Fisk’s cousin Carrie Parris said.
This wish brought in the Dream Catchers Balloon Program to come and help.
The group has a special kind of hot air balloon. Instead of a basket, there are seats that make it convenient for anyone to get a lift.
“It brings so much joy, chokes me up every time I think about it,” organizer Captain-Crystal Stout said.
Joy that was brought to Melana Fisk’s father, Bill Fisk.
” To see her, to get a smile on her face, that doesn’t happen very much anymore,” he said.
The program has given more than 300 flights since it was created last year.
